About the Events

global time attack series
The Global Time Attack is comprised of a team of leaders in the tuner, time attack and traditional motorsports fields. Our team produced the very first North American time attack way back in 2004. We were the crew chiefs back in the early days of the Honda FWD drag movement and the editors of the world’s most successful tuner magazine. We built the largest import car show series ever and we manage the marketing efforts for some of the world’s fastest time attack teams. In short, we eat, sleep and breathe this stuff.

NASA

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is in its 8th full season with its Time Trial Program. Last year, they had all NASA regions with full participation, with over 900 drivers nationwide. For 2011, they will continue to have full participation from our thirteen NASA regions, with over one hundred ninety events nationwide. NASA will be having their sixth annual National NASA Championship event, this year (and in 2012) at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Ohio, on September 8th-11th, where we will crown our National TT Champions. NASA Time Trial (NASA TT) is a National auto competition program, utilizing Regional series based on a time trial style format, with rules that establish car classifications to provide a contest of driver skill. NASA TT is designed to bridge the gap between NASA HPDE (High Performance Driving Events ), and wheel-to-wheel racing. In most regions, we provide awards on a daily basis, and both awards and sponsor provided prizes on an annual basis for competition winners. NASA TT provides a venue for spirited on-track competition with a high degree of both safety and convenience. NASA TT competition will take place during NASA HPDE-4 sessions or in separate TT run groups, depending on the event schedule and number of participants.

Super Lap Battle is the ultimate test for a tuner, combining all areas of car setup. It is about getting the best setup of engine work, suspension/brakes, aerodynamics and wheels/tires to work in harmony to get the single fastest lap time possible. This event is a time trial based contest similar to most race organizations qualifying sessions. Cars go on track to compete for the fastest single lap time. The event started in April 2004 under the name Time Attack and was put together by the editors of Sport Compact Car and Super Street. The track of choice was to be Buttonwillow in the clockwise 13 configuration. This event for the first time was able to bring out the top tuners in the USA and Japan to compete on the road course. Signal Auto’s R34 GTR pulled off the fastest time of the day with a 1:54. Later in the same year we held another event in November where Sun Auto’s Cyber Evo driven by Tarzan Yamada set a long standing record of 1:48.906. The current record is held by Nobuteru Taniguchi in the HKS CT230R with a 1:43.523.
